Project Components

The project included four main components: the prioritization of crop wild relatives based on a gap analysis, the collection of CWR in the field, CWR conservation in genebanks, and the use of CWR in pre-breeding efforts to prepare them for crop breeders. In parallel, there was a strong capacity building element of the project. It focused on strengthening partner information systems and training across the span of the projects’ activities, from collecting and conservation to pre-breeding, evaluation and data management.
